For the past two years I’ve spent a good portion of my week with Jim, Jaime, Ron, and Michael. When I first started working at Act 3, I was a fresh college grad and the pandemic was very much in full swing. I had no idea then that my time spent with Act 3 would be so impactful on me.

From the very beginning of my time working with these guys, I was given jobs and tasks that challenged me to learn. When I started working for Act 3 I had heard of Adobe’s Creative Cloud, but had never used any of their applications before. Instead of being a hindrance, Ron, Jaime, and Jim used it as an opportunity to teach me new skills. I started my video editing career by editing rough cuts and doing cut downs of interviews and slowly progressed to refining and finalizing videos. Now, I’ve gotten confident (and competent) enough that, when given some direction, I can create full videos from start to finish. 

In addition to video editing, I’ve also become much more confident in myself and the work that I can provide, thanks to Act 3. They always encouraged feedback and asked me to voice my opinions on all sorts of jobs. The collaboration that Act 3 fosters is like none other that I’ve experienced and they take all feedback into account. Everyone shares creative ideas freely and implements them whenever we can into the projects we’re working on, which always ends up being an improvement. 

Not only that, but they have encouraged me to always be honest. They always believe that it’s better to be honest about not knowing how to do something and learn how then to try and blindly scramble along. 

I have grown and learned so much working for Act 3 and couldn’t imagine a better company to have been with for the past two years. Everyone here is always so warm, welcoming, and open. While I am sad to be leaving, I know I will cherish all I’ve learned and done with Act 3.
