Wheels of Justice turn at Act 3

Amanda Black, Program Manager, Ohio Justice Bus.

Last week, the Ohio Justice Bus made a scheduled stop at Fairhill Partners, the campus home of Act 3. This specially designed van is a service of the house a mobile attorneys’ office offering pro bono legal services to Ohioans in need. Specialties include healthcare matters, adoption and foster care issues, and other matters that might be unresolved due to lack of access to affordable legal services. The van has two private meeting rooms staffed with in-house and ‘virtual’ attornies and powered with internet connectivity and printing technology. Their focus is rural and underserved communities throughout Ohio.

The wheels of justice may turn slowly, but thanks to the work of Ohio’s Justice Bus, those wheels are turning positively for more Ohioans than ever. Special recognition to attorney Terry Gilbert, author of Trying Times, published by Act 3. Gilbert’s account of his five decades of work on a variety of social and criminal justice matters aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to equal access to quality legal representation.
